In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, officials from Doctor's Without Borders, and other NGO's aboard the Turkish flotilla that was boarded by the Israeli navy, a first hand report of these organizations hoping to breach the political divides and provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.

"We are apolitical organizations, our main goals is to provide the necessary humanitarian assistance to those who need it" said Lauren Pace, a representative of the Humanitarian Relief Foundation based in Istanbul.

"The current situation in Gaza is a humanitarian catastrophe where people are not able to receive the medical help they need."

"Necessary medical equipment as simple as syringes and IVs are not available in hospitals."

"There have been reports of high malnutrition rates."
