Press Release - The State of Israel

The State of Israel condemns the actions of Lehi and wishes peace to those affected by the tragedy. We have had an embargo on concrete to Gaza, thus by attempting to transport these materials, the trade agreement has been violated and stand by the actions taken on the ship. No evidence has been presented that there were no military weapons present and thus has no reason to believe that a purely humanitarian boat would be so hesitant to allow our soldiers to board the vessels. The State of Israel is simply following through with the letter of international law. Boats violating the blockade will be dealt with accordingly.
