In response to the article printed by “Hürriyet”, the NATO committee wishes to publicly state that the deployment of troops will only be considered as a last resort, and that the body will exhaust all other means before taking direct military action. NATO member states discourage an escalation of violence and divisiveness, as it is currently unwarranted. NATO does not wish to infringe upon the sovereignty of the states involved, and hopes that they will be able to find a peaceful, diplomatic solution to the issues at hand.
